Making the Case: Custom Factory Direct Kitchen Cabinets on the Web.

Throughout history, one of the ways great business leaders have identified where great opportunities could be found, was to look at the things everyone else was saying "it can't be done".

Today, for a factory to be bold enough to bypass the decades long, tried and true, multi-layered channel for the distribution of fine custom cabinetry in order to open up direct access to consumers; and to leverage the Internet to facilitate complete transactions for built-to-order cabinetry-from concept and design through purchasing and aftercare-were two untapped areas of opportunity that exemplified those can't do scenarios.

Harnessing the Power of the Internet

Thrilled to pick up this gauntlet several years ago, Crossroads Cabinetry is now the first to leverage the Internet as a platform for making available Fine Custom Cabinetry to the Homeowner and Home Improvement Professional alike. To be frank, we had much more incentive and motivation than simply having others not believing it could be done; we realized that in fact, it eventually had to be done as today's Internet savvy consumer were beginning to look for ways to acquire luxurious home interiors in more affordable means. This meant a dramatic paradigm shift was bubbling to the surface where consumers were going to gradually be demanding the cabinet industry to find new ways to improve affordability. It sounds harsh, but for industry veterans the writing was clearly on the wall that layers in the channel, important prior to the Internet, needed the value of their existence to be justified for this new Internet economy.

What Does Fine Custom Cabinetry Factory Direct mean to you and why should you care?

By providing direct access to our factory, Crossroads was able to achieve many advantages and benefits for our customers. In something of a panic reaction to this reality, many online companies are trying to disguise themselves by claiming to offer factory direct kitchen cabinet pricing; yet, they are nothing more than retailers giving a larger discount from their retail margin. Since they are not actually the factory, to remain profitable, they find that they have to make cuts elsewhere in their overhead and unfortunately for the consumer, that is all too often at the expense of their service.

This may explain the reason that most often, these are companies selling ready-to-assemble or stock quality of kitchen cabinets assembled from parts in their warehouse. The selection is limited to parts and styles that are stocked in their warehouse so service requirements and expectations can also be lower. This is where the difference in value for a Homeowner or Home Improvement Professional takes a dramatic and definitive shift to your advantage. Through Webinetry.com, Traditional and Contemporary Fine Custom Cabinetry, is built to your order utilizing the highest quality hardware in eight weeks with a lifetime warranty.

Excellent article. We here at TraDUR Company http://www.tradur.com are doing something very similiar. Ten years ago we started as a sourcing company from Indonesian factories and offering custom made items.

For the past 4 years we have been producing from our own factory very high end custom kitchen and bathroom cabinets for A.M. America http://architecturalmarket.com located in Tulsa. Due to the recent slow down of the US economy sales have been slow to come in from Tulsa.

Six months ago we went back to where we were but now using the knowledge we have gained from our own factory to build kitchens and baths and we now offer the same service to anyone, anywhere.

We have seen a huge increase of direct sales. We have not limited our tartget audience to the USA only. We have two new clients whom are now buying our furniture on a regular basis. One is from Poland and another is from South Africa. We are able to reach markets via the Internet with our high US standards that before was virtualy impossible.

Thank You for your comments Glenn. The real breakthrough with Webinetry.com is not only the direct relationship with the factory but the fact that we have achieved such a drastic "and permanent" reduction in price for the purchaser. We are not talking a mere 10-20%, but a fine custom cabinet product that is only slightly more than many stock products in the marketplace. A product made with exceptional craftsmanship of the finest materials and hardware individually built and available for delivery in eight weeks or less.

Our company mantra is to make "Luxury Affordable For All" and we believe that if you are going to go through the inconvenience of a remodel then you should be able to install high quality cabinetry and be able to "afford it".

I love what you are doing. When I read the article I felt you were describing exactly what we are doing here at TraDUR Company.

We sell high end furniture factory direct from Indonesia. But you do not deal with Indonesians, I Glenn Madden am an American that has been living here in Indonesia now for more than 10 years. Many people think of Asia as being low quality. But that is only because so many resellers only bring the low quality cheap products back to the US for distribution with giant markups.

What we are doing now is selling high end furniture direct to the consumers with only enough markup to make a fair profit.

Our prices are nearly double what the standard Indonesian supplier charges. This is because the cost of our wood, materials and processing is more than double the cheap products.

Double priced products here though are still less than a low end retailer in the USA even with our expensive shipping cost.

I have always wanted the best for our clients, but it took me opening my own factory for me to get that.

We sell what the client wants. I am experienced in CAD design and have several Indonesians now that assist me. A client sends us an email sometimes with photos are just a description and we create 3D models for them of what they are wanting. This helps to be sure that we are thinking what the client is visualizing and in some case the client will change their mind about something after they see it.

We do fail in one area of your list. We cannot deliver in 8 weeks or less. It takes 4 weeks for a shipment from Indonesia to the USA. It takes us up to 10 weeks to build the furniture for a total in most cases of 14 weeks delivery time. But like fine dining our clients agree it was worth the wait.
