Crossroads Testimonial: The Thomas' of Thousand Oaks, California

From our entire family at Crossroads, we want to thank Bob and Toula Thomas for placing their confidence in us for their kitchen remodel. Here is what they had to day.

Bob Thomas

When we first got started looking into custom cabinetry providers, I was very skeptical and had reservations; but now, we are thankful that we made Crossroads Cabinetry and their traditional Legend Collection our final choice as we're pleasantly surprised. I was intimate with the installation and everything fit perfectly together like a puzzle; the fit and finish were perfect, so we didn’t have to play around with adjustments or fillers.

We were about to spend more at IKEA and we would have had ‘inconveniences’ like having to assemble everything ourselves. We almost spent a lot more at Home Depot for a lot less. We spent a lot of time in design and the requirements demanded very precise fit where if only one dimension was off; it would have thrown off everything. You try to get as confident in what it will turn out like as you can, but you really don’t know until the end.

Our neighbor across the street was advising us on this remodel. He is a General Contractor who works on high-end homes in Sherwood and Westlake village and he’s very savvy with price. He was disappointed that we didn’t use his sources, but now that he has seen our finished project, he is impressed; honestly, when he saw the moldings and trim as well as the Blum hardware that he said surpassed Woodmode quality—for the price, he was shocked!

“Including both bathrooms and hardwood floors for the home, you could say we remodeled more than half of the home and the cabinetry is the best part of the remodel” –Bob

The kitchen is done and we are very, very happy with it! Finding the "right" granite was very nerve-wracking, but that's been installed, the backsplash is done, and we hung 3 pendants over the island last week. That was the finishing touch! Our nephew is covering the wall to the left of the refrigerator with ledger stone and that's giving the kitchen a very sophisticated yet earthy look. We'll definitely take some pictures and send them to you.

The only issue we had was the unexpected delay during the holidays. We lost some time when samples on some selections weren’t immediately available to see if we wanted to change from maple kitchen cabinets to cherry kitchen cabinets in our preferred style and delivery delay during the holidays. In hindsight, we settled on a maple, Crossroads Mandalay Bay with a clove finish and have absolutely no regrets.

All in all, we're really happy with how it turned out and friends who have seen the kitchen and looked at the cabinets have been very impressed. Attached is just a small picture I took with my cell phone to capture the granite, the backsplash, the drawer pulls, and the pendant light for my sister. More pictures to come. Toula

“When it comes to referring people; well, when they see the product, it really speaks for itself” –Toula

US Navy Project Testimonial by CPN Member, Kelly Niblett from K & S Enterprises

As a general contractor for more than 20 years, I have had many demanding clients, none more stringent than the U.S. Navy. When I received the requirements for a new home construction high priority project that they were planning for their senior naval officers, it was clear that if I were going to be involved with this exciting project, I needed to bring in a superior value in a custom cabinet product and proven service offering.

Moreover, the products needed to deliver a high end, designer quality look that performed equally well. High flexibility was needed to be able to customize for design integration across rooms and a breadth of selection was expected in materials and species as well as color and style.

See Flash Presentation of Project Photos- Set I and Set II

Offering a complete turn-key solution, part of our proposal included a sound customer communication plan so our client had an accurate awareness of every aspect of the project; and project management principles backed by technical expertise to ensure any issues were resolved quickly.

Regardless of the scope or complexity of the products ordered, fast replacements and competitive lead times were guaranteed; and outstanding packaging was mandatory to ensure there was no need for incoming inspection.

Architectural plans detailed specifications for cabinetry for multiple applications including the kitchen, baths, laundry rooms, butler’s pantries, and media centers. As you can imagine, there was a formidable amount of competition for this project. However, with Crossroads fine custom cabinetry, factory direct cabinet prices and tremendous staff, we were successful to secure this project and deliver on every promise.

As a result, many more doors to opportunity are opening and we enter them with total confidence. So, it is my honor to give Crossroads’ my highest recommendation and we are proud to be a member of their CPN program.

Hi Michael and Alicia,

We have completed our kitchen project and are thrilled with the way it has all turned out. Everyone loves the cabinets and how nice they look and work. I have attached a file with some pictures of the finished job. Please feel free to use them to show to potential clients or however you like. After a bit of a rest and enjoying things getting back to normal (whatever that is) I'll be contacting you to discuss cabinets for the Master Bath.

Thanks again for all your help and support. Your company was a joy to work with and I have recommended you to several friends.

Happy Holidays!

Interview with Jacob Teng from Austin, Texas (Life in a Crossroads Kitchen one year later')

Jacob Teng of Austin using Crossroads Cabinets

Jacob Teng, Crossroads Customer since August of 2008.

At Crossroads, we are unswerving in our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction so we look for every opportunity to listen to the feedback from our customers. Our mission is to exceed every wish now and in the future. We like to think that with our focus on guiding each customer through a productive and pleasurable kitchen cabinet selection process via factory direct kitchen cabinets on the web exclusively available at Webinetry.com, it will ultimately help turn a house into a home.

With this in mind, we set out this week to interview Jacob Teng, from Austin, Texas more than one year after his Crossroads kitchen cabinet purchase. Sure he already gave us his testimonial early on about how the cabinets are well made and that the installation turned out to be so easy; but, we wanted to know more about how much he enjoyed living in and around a Crossroads kitchen. Here is my interview.

Do you recall your first impression of Legend and how you were drawn to the "Maple Kitchen Cabinets" collection and what aspects/s really caught your attention?

Jacob Teng: I was able to see and touch many samples before, so I knew about the quality and was easily confident in the style that I wanted for our kitchen.

Would you say that your tastes typically are conservative/traditional, modern, or a combination?

Jacob Teng: We are very traditional and conservative in our tastes-that is where our imagination goes and for house, which is 30 years old, a traditional kitchen interior was the right choice for our house as well.

Did everyone or all sides of the family share the same view?

Jacob Teng: Yes; our tastes go back really for generations....on both sides of the family.

What impact has the new kitchen had on your daily lives? Or what role, aside from the common uses, does the kitchen play in your family life?

Jacob Teng: It has really become the most important area for the whole family and where we spend most of our time. For our design, we don't have a direct opening to our living area, but there is a walkway that is connected to the main area.

Would you say that your impression of the quality of the cabinetry that you had when you first purchased and had it installed has increased over time?

Jacob Teng: Yes; our perception of the quality has not eroded at all.

What product qualities (product grade, dovetail drawer boxes, drawer guides, hinges, finishes, distressing capabilities, etc.) do you enjoy or appreciate the most?

Jacob Teng: We appreciate them all; there is one exception, one drawer takes an extra push to close, but it is the most used drawer in the house.

Really, what drawer is it?

Jacob Teng: The trash bin, we open and close it probably 30-40 times a day.

After experiencing Crossroad's cabinetry for more than one year, would you say that you wouldn't want to settle for anything less?

Jacob Teng: Absolutely, I would not settle for anything less.

Thinking back to the when you were tearing down your kitchen to remodel, does that seem distant now?

Jacob Teng: I still remember, still have a visual tearing down the whole house; but now it all seems well worth it.

My installer just stopped by and made the comments that the cabinets are well made and using the Blum hinges is really top-notch. He also mentioned that the installation was really easy too. Hes been working in a cabinet factory for 3 years so he knows cabinetry well. Id say you guys do a really good job in manufacturing such high quality products.
